Property Tax Assessment Valuation Day was January 1, 2023

These assessments are not mailed to homeowners right away and depending on your county, you may not learn your new assessed value until months later.

Are assessments accurate?

Most of the time yes, however, there are exceptions. To find out if your new assessment falls within a range of automated valuation models, click here: StaciaW.johnlscott.com/home-valuation for a computer generated automated valuation or reach out via email, phone, or text so you can receive a more accurate and complimentary comparative market analysis of your home.

What does a higher assessment mean to me?

If your home was assessed higher in 2023, expect your property taxes to increase. If you have a mortgage payment, your lender, who normally pays your property taxes, will be mailed the new assessment. Expect your mortgage payment to increase to make up the difference from the previous year’s property tax.
